Since the inception of the “Legends Scholarship” in 2021, Legends of the Ball, Inc. has awarded “30” scholarships to high school students; “4” tuition scholarships with our collaborative partner “WeCoach” to aspiring female coaches; and two fellowships with our partner “Women X” to collegiate students. 

The Legends of the Ball Inc. scholarship award recipients for 2024 have been recognized for their outstanding achievements both in academics and basketball. This year’s recipients exemplify the spirit of resilience, determination, and leadership, significantly contributing to their communities while excelling in women’s basketball. Through rigorous selection criteria, Legends of the Ball Inc. has identified individuals who demonstrate athletic prowess and a commitment to education and personal growth.

These scholarships aim to support their continued pursuit of excellence, providing financial assistance and opportunities for further development as they transition into higher education and beyond. The 2024 recipients are poised to become inspiring role models for future generations, carrying forward the legacy of dedication and excellence celebrated by Legends of the Ball Inc.

Meet the 10 Legends Scholarship recipients of 2024:

Jamya Moore – Colquitt County High School (Norman Park, GA) will attend Kennesaw State University and major in Chemistry (@jamya_moore19)


Nevaeh Parrish – Champlain Valley Union H.S. (Hinesburg, VT) will attend the University of Vermont and major in Elementary Education (@Nevaehparrish_)


Elizabeth Brown – New Caney High School (New Caney, TX) will attend Lone Star College Montgomery and major in Radiology (@_itslizbrown_)


Tireza Sengal – Amphitheatre High School (Tucson, AZ) will attend Lafayette College and will major in Computer Science


Georgia Woodard – Rockdale High School (Rockdale, TX) will attend Texas A&M University and major in Education (@duh.itsgigi)

Ciara Miles (Valedictorian) – Rockdale High School (Rockdale, TX) will attend the University of Houston and major in Computer Science (@ihearttciara!)


Kenia Lopez-Medina – Desert Springs High School (Desert Springs, CA) will attend Cal State San Bernadino and major in Biological Sciences (@k.3n1a)


Madison Smith – Lafayette Middle School Counseling Center (Oxford, MS) will attend Southwest MS Community College and major in Education (@madynakayla)


Lanaijha Johnson – Center High School (Center, TX) will attend Angelina College and major in Psychology (@Onlly.May)
